Jesus Maria Garcedan Sandoval “Grandpa Garci”, a life-long resident of Nambe, New Mexico went home to be with our dear Lord on October 18, 2014 at 6:48 p.m. after a long illness of Pulmonary Cystic Fibrosis and Emphysema. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merced and Andreita; son, Robert Steven; siblings, Sebastian Vicente Sr. and spouse Rosa, Antonia and spouse Cornelio Herrera, Josefita and spouse Manuel Ortiz, Feliciana and spouse Aguinaldo Gomez; sisters-in-law, Elsie; grandson-in-law, Oswaldo Quintero. Garcedan worked for a short time with the Los Alamos Labs. He worked in the Anaconda Mine in Butt, Montana. He lived with his wife and four children for a number of years in Venice, California. There he worked at Ferro Cast and Rand Corporation. He retired from the Santa Fe County Roads Department in 1994. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Juanita; daughters, Mariella C. Crawford and spouse Lowell A. (Lo), Marietta A. Marquez and spouse Edward G. and his son, Anthony D. Sandoval; brother, Merced Sandoval; sister, Juanita Sandoval Misere; sister-in-law, Mary Sandoval; grandchildren, Sonya E. Roberts and spouse Carl A., Celli P. Crawford, Loella L. Chavez and spouse Sergio, Christina M. Marquez, Edward S. Marquez and spouse Sylvia, Kathryn and partner Jeremy Vigil, Andrew and partner Jessica Gallegos, Suzzette and partner Henry Quintana, great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Garcedan, Brisa, Lluvia, Olivia, Logan, Aaron, Steven, Michael, Mariah, Alexis, Jeremy, Sky, Kylee, Andres, Shanya, Anthony, Victoria, Josie; great-great-grandson, Gavino plus numerous family members and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 10:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe, with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Staff at Christus St. Vincent Hospital for the care and compassion they gave to Garcedan during this sad time, May God Bless You All.
