Frutosa Martinez, 88, a resident of Española, passed away peacefully at home and was reunited with her beloved husband on Thursday, November 26, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zebedeo Martinez; eldest son, Marcus Martinez; parents, Timoteo and Bernardita Trujillo; brothers, Alfonso, Felipe and Ignacio Trujillo; a beloved aunt, Rosarito Trujillo; grandmother, Pilar Trujillo; in-laws Presciliano and Ignacita Martinez. Mrs. Martinez was born on September 21, 1927. She was born and raised in Cordova, NM. Frutosa was an amazing mother, full of unconditional love. She was a great cook and motivator. Education was a high priority for her and she instilled in her children the importance of an education. She loved her children dearly and will be loved and missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Marsha Maestas and husband Roy, Beatrice Salazar and husband Wayne, Robert and wife Erma, Eric Martinez and Judy Salipan, Richard and wife Annette, Arnold and wife Yvette; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister in law, Evila Trujillo; sus queridos nietos, Tamara Jim and Richie Martinez as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Eric, Richard, Arnold, Jozzeb and Richie Martinez, Rubel Leyba, Roy Maestas, and Phillip Chacon. Honorary pallbearers named are, all her grandchildren, Wayne Salazar, Eugene Trujillo, and Nars Martinez.
