Frances Vigil

We the family of Frances B. Vigil, with heart felt sorrow announce the passing of the wife of Max Vigil Jr on October 22, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Avellino Pete Moya and Pabilta Moya. Sisters, Cecilia Talache and Flora Rocha; Brother, Wilbert Moya and her grandson, Eric Montoya. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Max Vigil Jr; her sons, Michael Vigil of Rio Chama, Raymond Vigil and wife, Teresa of Los Lunas, Andrew Vigil of Albuquerque, daughters, Maxine Gambler and husband, Wallace of Oklahoma, Theresa Montoya of Espanola, Freida Vigil and companion, George of Hernandez. She also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Frances B. Vigil was born in Mora, NM on June 1, 1931 and moved to Santa Fe, NM as a young girl where she attended the College of Santa Fe. While raising her family she obtained her BSN degree. She was a dedicated nurse while providing professional care to her patients for over 20 years.

Frances was a world traveler, traveling with her husband to Russia, China, Mexico, Alaska and many other states throughout the U.S. She was also a very skilled seamstress. She loved to spending time with her family and friends.

So with the notice we the family of Frances B. Vigil would love to extend an invitation to celebrate her life. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe with the following serving as pallbearers Junior, Paul, Harold, Jesse, Max, George, Wallace, and Seth. Honorary pallbearers include all of her grandchildren, Julia Casados, Povi Threlkelb, and her neighbors and friends. The family of Frances B.
