Flora D. Martinez

Flora D. Martinez, age 64, a resident of Espanola, NM, passed away of January 17, 2023, from a lengthy illness.

She is preceded in death by her son Carlos Martinez, parents Facundo and Emilia Martinez and sons-in-laws Leon Martinez and Richard Martinez.

Flora was a loving, caring, elegant woman who loved spending time with her companion of 28 years, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed gardening, shopping and a had a secret passion for singing.

She is survived by her husband Filiberto Martinez; daughters Stephanie Martinez (Brian), Shannon Martinez, Veronica Martinez and Angel Martinez (Alexis); grandchildren James Martinez (Stevannah), Francine Martinez (Danny), Dominique Martinez (Antonio), Shawn Martinez, Leondro Garcia and Nathan Martinez; great grandson Anthony Leon Maestas; step children Charo Martinez, Carla Susana Martinez, Filiberto Martinez Jr., Maria Yvonne Martinez, Norma Angelica Martinez and Alberto Martinez; brother Tommy Martinez (Esther); nephew Michael Martinez and niece Alexis Martinez.

A public visitation will begin on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at 5:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory with a rosary to follow at 6:00 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday January 26, 2023 at 1:00 pm at St. Annes Catholic Church in Alcalde and Burial will follow at the Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde.

Serving as Pallbearers are James Martinez, Shawn Martinez, Michael Martinez, Antonio Trujillo, Danny Trujillo and Albert Martinez.
