Filiberto D. Dominguez Jr., 61, a life-long resident of Truchas, joined the Lord on Monday, June 8, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him Dionicio and Bonifacia Dominguez; uncles, Estevan, Pete and Jose, aunts, Consuelo, Bertha and Petronila; father and mother-in-law, Adonaiso and Clorinda Martinez; brother-in-law, William Corr. Mr. Dominguez worked at LANL for 25 years as a cement mason worker and foreman. He was generous, had a great sense of humor and a strong work ethic, a fabulous personality and was well respected. He had a tendency to be mischievous. He was a good friend and mentor to many and was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was a gardener and had a great passion for maintaining his beautiful yard and flowers. Mr. Dominguez is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Annabelle; children, Filiberto and wife Valerie, Angela and husband William; Dionicio and companion Estrella; grandchildren, Miranda, Estevan, Dionicio, Juliana and William; his only sister, Consuelo Corr, and niece Christine and husband John Vogt; his loving father, Filiberto Dominguez and wife Lucy, mother, Angelina Duran; special aunt, Nellie Valdez and husband Augustine, uncle, Nestor Dominguez; special sister-in-law, Margie Martinez; close cousins, Pete Dominguez and Yolanda Valdez; special friend, Richard Gonzales and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Public visitation will begin on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Truchas, with a burial to follow at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas. Serving the family as pallbearers are Pete Dominguez, Leonard Sandoval, Richard Gonzales, Walter Sandoval, Sammy Cordova and Eleazar Molina. Honorary pallbearers are Sammy Martinez, Benito Vigil, Dana Parrett, Manuel Salazar, Tommy Martinez and Tomike Mondragon. The family of Filiberto Dominguez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
