Fidel Alberico

Fidel Alberico Jr (84) of La Mesilla, NM passed away on October 23, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents Fidel Alberico Sr. and Olivama Alberico, brother Ralph Alberico, sister Bertha Petry and son Danny Alberico.

Fidel was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friends to many. In 1958, he married Gloria Valdez and they raised 4 daughters.  Fidel had a unique and loving relationship with his wife and each one of his children.  He loved cooking for his family, fishing, dancing, and gardening. Fidel had this light in him that the moment that you met him, you would become his friend and he would leave a lasting impression on you.

Fidel is survived by his wife of 63 years Gloria Alberico, his daughters Joanne Jatip (Pepe), Nichole Trujillo (Sammy), Yvonne Vigil, and Elisa Alberico.  Fidel has 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who he all loved.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out and provided their kind words, friendship, and food during this challenging time.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 6:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Holy Cross church in Santa Cruz with burial to follow at the Nuestra Senora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo.
