Fernando Romero

Fernando D. Romero, 44, of Truchas, NM, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 21, 2025. His sudden departure leaves a deep void in our hearts for all who knew and loved him.

Fernando was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Carpio & Carmelita Romero; maternal grandmother Corrina Martinez; brother David Romero; special brother-in-law Francisco Martinez, and many other relatives.

Fernando was a general contractor/heavy equipment operator and a jack of all trades who took pride in all he did.

He is survived by his wife Amanda Romero of 21 years; children Destiny Duran and her companion Brandon Bustos, Ricky J. Romero and Unique F. Romero; granddaughter Blair Bustos; grandfather Nelson Martinez; mother-in-law Barbara Hutchinson and her partner Elmer Chalan; parents Ricky & Debra Romero; nieces and nephew he Loved as his own Brandon (Merissa) Samantha (Richard), Hailey (Justin) and Chantell Romero; great nieces and nephews Arianna, Alexis, Alena, Ethaniel, and his Godson and great nephew Elijah Vigil and many other loved ones.

Services will be as follows: A Public Visitation will begin on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 5:30 pm in the Sangre De Cristo Chapel of the DeVargas Funeral Home, in Espanola, NM, and a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM. Burial will follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Cordova, NM. A meal will be served at the La Arboleda Senior Center in Chimayo, NM, (located next door to the church and in the same parking lot as the purple park).

Serving the family as Pallbearers will be Brandon Romero, Richard Gonzales, Israel Sandoval, Elmer Chalan, Bryan Sandoval, Videlio Sandoval, Freddie Trujillo, Ernie and Anthony Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his children, nieces and nephews.
