In Loving Memory of Evelyn Martinez
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Lovato Martinez, who was born on April 4, 1958, and passed on April 27, 2025, after a lengthy illness. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Born and raised in Coyote, Evelyn learned early the values of hard work, humility, and perseverance. She was a remarkable woman of immense strength, grace, and selflessness. She spent her life working, raising her family, tending to her dog, and filling her home with warmth and the irresistible aroma of her famous tortillas, which were loved by everyone who knew her. She faced each day with quiet determination and a deep sense of devotion.
She had a deep love for dogs. Her last dog had to be returned to the animal shelter when she was hospitalized, but Chiquita, her favorite, held a special place in her heart and was lovingly put down due to old age.
Evelyn was a resident of Federal Heights, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Martinez; father, Salomon Lovato; mother, Adriana Martinez; brother, Andres Lovato; and sister in law, Lucy Lovato.
Evelyn Martinez is survived by her children, Daniel Fernandez, Adelina Fernandez (Isaac), Margaret Fernandez (Ezequiel), brothers, Salomon Jr. (Glenda), Chris (Marlene), Richard, Joseph (Susan) and Randy (Valerie); Christopher (Karen), Sisters Eliza Martinez (Andy), Genara Archuleta (Moises), Theresa Velasquez (Freddie), Thelma Chavez (Ronnie) and Grace Salazar (Eddie); 6 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
