EUSTACIO MONTOYA, 81, a resident of Truchas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 2, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Casimiro and Edubigen Montoya; brothers, Senobio Montoya and Abel Montoya; sisters, Florinda Romero and Adonaisa Martinez; brothers-in-law, Joe L. Romero, Nick Sandoval, Adrian Martinez and David Lancaster and sister-in-law, Euphrosinia Montoya. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading the local newspaper. He was a member of the Confrada in Truchas for many years. He will be greatly missed. Mr. Montoya is survived by his brothers, Gilbert Montoya and wife Lugarda of Chimayo, Joe Eluid Montoya and wife Bernadine of Truchas; sister, Anita Lancaster of Las Vegas, Nevada; special nephew, Leonard Romero and wife Margaret and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Eustacio worked at L.A.N.L. and retired following many years of service. Public visitation will begin on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Nuestra Señora de Rosario Church in Truchas. Burial to follow at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving as pallbearers, Randy Montoya, David Romero, Lawrence Montoya, Nick Sandoval, Jr., Jacob Romero, Gilbert Montoya, Jr and Tommy Martinez. The family of Eustacio Montoya has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
