Eugene Rendon

Eugene D. Rendon , 65, a resident of Pojoaque, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 due to complications of battling cancer. Preceding him in death are his parents, Jose Estevan and Tiofila Rendon; mother-in-law, Frances V. Trujillo; brothers-in-law, Bert, Isaac, Jesse and Rudy Trujillo. Mr. Rendon enjoyed fishing and camping at the family’s ranch. He cherished spending time with his daughters, wife and grandchildren. He was a very caring and kind person and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. For the last three decades, Gene was a dedicated and proud school bus driver for the Pojoaque Schools. He was loved by the children he devoted his life to on a daily basis, driving them to and from school, and parents alike. Mr. Rendon is survived by his wife of 46 years, Flora Rendon of Pojoaque; daughters, Ramona (Randy) Lujan of Pojoaque, Berta Rendon of Ohkay Owingeh, Valerie Rendon of Espanola, and Brittany Rendon of Pojoaque; grandson raised as a son, Nathaniel Huizar as well as Jerriah and Danikka Velarde-Rendon, Isaiah and Navaeh Rendon; grandchildren, Geralynn Espinoza (TJ) of Albuquerque; Joshua, Evan (Patricia), Shaun (Sonia), Dezmond (Gabby) and Alfred Jr. Baca; one great-grandson, Ayden Dominic Baca all of Ohkay Owingeh; siblings, Abel(Senaida) Rendon, Lawrence(Lorraine) Rendon of Española, Rose Marie Maez of Velarde and Joe B Fernandez (Erma) of Fairview , and Clarabelle(Tom) Pacheco and Francine Martinez of Velarde; special pet and service dog, Ebony; special nieces and nephews, Elaine, Julian, Adam and Jesse Trujillo; special aunt and uncle, Mary and Fred Delgado of Ensenada, NM; close friend, Michael Salazar of Española and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cities of Gold Conference Center in Pojoaque. Burial will take place at a later date. The family of Eugene D. Rendon has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
