Eufelio Edward Medina, 88 a resident of Española, passed away on November 4, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Eufelio Edward Medina, better known as Edward to his family and friends and Pa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who absolutely adored him. Heaven gained an angel and one who could show them how to dance and Susie got the Love of her life back. Edward’s love for Susie was like no other. He protected, loved, and cared for her until her last breath. Their marriage was an amazing example and definition of true love. His sense of humor, generosity and loving heart was special. His family came first and he always embraced them with a hug, kiss and he always told them how much he loved them. He raised three beautiful daughters and always wanted to take care of them no matter how old they were. They were able to do the same for him until he went to be with their mom. Even though he was a home-body, when going out he enjoyed every moment, always focusing on having fun. Edward enjoyed the outdoors, avidly enjoying the sun, sweeping the portal, combing the yard and exercising. As a Broncos fan, win or lose, he never missed a game. He always made the Superbowl a family event. He was always the life of the party, loved singing, playing his harmonica and was an avid dancer/jitterbug. He was a sight to see! His favorite food was of course hot dogs, and had a special sweet tooth from cookies (Susie’s Biscochitos), candies and donuts. Edward was a lifelong resident of Espanola, he honorably served in the Marine Corp during the Korean era. After returning home, Edward served in the Army National Guard. He was proud to be a Veteran and proud that his oldest grandson, David followed in his footsteps as a US Marine. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children Robin & Joe Duran, Claudelle & Joseph Martinez, and Clara & John Ortega. Grand children Anjolyn Martinez, Johanna Vigil (Larry), JoRonda Abeyta (Stephen), David Ortega (Amelia), & Michael Ortega (Shay). Two very special great grandsons Ezerah Martinez (Mary) & Josiah Martinez who helped care for him until the very end. Six special great grandchildren, Zeriah, Zayden, Brayden, Michael, & Kaylee. Brother Ramos Medina, Sisters Mary Ann Archuleta (Joe), Stella Medina (Al), Anna Medina, Claudette Conner (Kevin), Sisters-In-Law Viola Apodaca (Foster), Connie Manzanares (Alfonso), Pearl Sanchez (Tiny), Dorothy Grandquist (Clause), brothers-in-law Paul Lopez & Julian Lopez.
