It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mamasita, sister, and grandma, Estella McCoy (Stella). Stella was born on April 23, 1938 in Cuba, New Mexico and resided in Española, New Mexico. Stella was 83 years old, she enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, taking rides to see the scenery and visits from her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Eusebio Aragon & Merejilda Montoya, her daughter Bernadette Borders, her son-in-law Ellis Borders and her sisters Porfiria Sanchez and Emma Jaramillo. She is survived by her brother Lupe Aragon (Udela), her children Jimmy Gutierrez (Monica), Kathleen Bonnie Roybal (Jake), Elizabeth Smith (Hiram), Daniel Gutierrez (Francine), her grandchildren Bonifacio, Moriah, Jessica, Amanda, David, Karen, Angel, Victoria, Ethan, Marcus, Jordan, Jackie, Branden, Bethany, Malachi, Harmony, Jeremiah, and Emily as well as 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A rosary will be recited on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM with a burial to follow at the Cuba Cemetery. Due to the pandemic, this will be a private ceremony. Services will be live streamed through Zoom:
