Escolastica Lucero 90, a lifelong resident of Cuyamungue passed away on Tuesday June 28, 2011 following a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anselmo Lucero and a son, Leroy Lucero. She is survived by her children; Anselmo Lucero Jr. of Santa Fe, Leo Lucero of Cuyamumgue, JoAnn Montoya of Santa Fe, George Lucero of Espanola, Irene Lucero and companion Felix Padilla, Loretta Montoya and companion Steve Roybal, and Yvonne Flournoy and husband Frank all of Cuyamungue. 2 Sisters; Adelina Roybal of Santa Fe and Ida Garcia and husband Ross of San Pedro. 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday June 30, 2011 at 12:00 noon also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are; Carlos Ortiz, Valentin Ortiz, Ross Garcia, Randy Roybal, David Roybal and James Montoya. Honorary pallbearer named is Phillip Montoya. The family of Escolastica Lucero has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley
