Ernest C. Trujillo

Ernest C. Trujillo passed away on August 16, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who will forever carry him in their hearts. Ernest was born on December 29, 1937, to Benito and Josefita Trujillo.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Benito and Josefita Trujillo, the love of his life, Ida Trujillo, his beautiful daughter, Janet Trujillo, his son-in-law, Julian Atencio, and his sisters, Manuelita Martinez, Georgia Sanchez, and Miquelita T. Vigil.

Ernest is survived by his sister, Matilde Quintana and his beautiful daughters, Marcella and Gerald Coriz, Debbie Trujillo and her amazing partner Maurice Flemming, and Tina and Chris Blunk.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ronnie and Valerie Serrano, Nichole and Andrew Herrera, Peter Casados, Preston Lopez, Shania Rael (Philip), Katelynn and David Morales, Esperanza and Nathan Tibbets, Tiana Rael (Jeremiah), Jericho Atencio, Brayton Blunk, Gerard and Gerrie Coriz, and Felicia and Mario Chavez.

Ernest was a strong, hardworking man with a personality all his own. He could be sweet, he could be spicy, and those who knew and loved him knew exactly which Ernest they were getting that day. He was, simply put, one heck of a man.

Above all else, Ernest loved his family, and he loved them hard. He adored the love of his life, Ida Trujillo, with whom he shared 65 beautiful years. He was a proud girl dad to his four beautiful daughters. His love for his family only grew with each generation, from his daughters to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family was one of the greatest joys of his life and will forever be the legacy he leaves behind.

Ernest also carried a deep love for our Lord throughout his life. His faith was an important part of the man he was and a source of strength throughout his journey. His family finds comfort in knowing that the faith Ernest carried here on earth has now led him home, where he is once again with those he loved and missed so dearly.

Ernest was happiest when he was keeping busy. He loved fishing and being outdoors, and it wasn't unusual to find him outside working on the house, tinkering with one of his cars, tending to his yard, or simply pulling weeds because there was always something to be done. Ernest knew the value of hard work and spent his career working as a janitor at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he later retired.

His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Amaya, Ryah, Xander, David Jr, Caliann, Maela, and Khalia, Luke, Andres, Lily, Amarie and Renee who were blessed to know the love of their great grandpa.

Ernest leaves behind a family filled with memories of his strength, his humor, his fiery side, his unwavering faith, and most of all, the enormous love he had for the people who belonged to him. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, grandfather and great grandfather, a brother, and a friend. He worked hard, loved deeply, believed faithfully, and built a life centered around the people who mattered most to him.

While his family will miss him beyond measure, there is comfort in knowing that Ernest is home with his Lord and Savior and reunited with his beloved Ida, his daughter Janet, and the loved ones who went before him. He will never be forgotten. ♡♡
