In Loving Memory of Ermila Ramoz

January 26, 1936 – December 14, 2025

Ermila Ramoz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 14, 2025 at the age of 89 in Espanola, New Mexico. Born in Sonora, Texas, on January 26, 1936, Ermila was raised in Carrizo Springs by her devoted parents, Andres and Manuela Salazar, alongside her three brothers and three sisters.

In December 1963, she married the love of her life, Alfred Ramoz. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Ermila had a spirited passion for the Dallas Cowboys and found joy in traveling and tending to her garden, where she nurtured both plants and peace.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred; her daughters, Belinda Ramoz Garza (Cesar Garza) and Jeanette Ramoz; her son, Christopher Ramoz (Yolanda); and her stepdaughter, Cynthia Laughon. Ermila also leaves behind eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

Ermila will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 6:00 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. 

Mass will take place on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 am at Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church in Santa Cruz (126 S. McCurdy Road), NM, at 11:00 am, with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
