Elvia Romero

Elvira Romero, originally from Cordova, New Mexico, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Gypsum, Colorado.

Elvira was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of her family. 

She is survived by her son Norbert Romero (Betty); her daughters Ida Palacio and Ruth Hernandez (Paul); her brother Eloy Sandoval and sister Delia Martinez; her beloved grandchildren Joey, Marvin, and Billy Romero; Janice Palacio; Michelle Martinez; Fernando and Vanessa Romero; and David and Elena Hernandez; and numerous great grandchildren.

Elvira will be remembered for her deep love of family, her strength, and the pride she carried in her roots from Cordova, New Mexico. Her legacy lives on through the many generations she loved and nurtured.

A Rosary will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at DeVargas Funeral Home in Española, New Mexico.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. DeVargas Funeral home. Burial will follow at the Cordova Catholic Cemetery.
