Eloy Romero

Eloy Robert Romero, 80, a resident of Alcalde, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julio Jose and Elizama Manuelita Romero; sister, Cordelia Roybal; nephew, Rex Roybal; sister-in-law, Teresita Medina; brother-in-law, Bon Diaz; best friend, Jay Martinez. Eloy was a loving husband of 62 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. This man loved fishing streams, lakes, and rivers. He was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed watching sports. His teams were the San Francisco Giants for baseball, Boston Celtics for basketball, and boxing of all kinds. In his spare time he enjoyed watching cops on television. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Romero is survived by his wife Orlinda Romero of Alcalde; children, Bobby Romero and companion Molly of Española, Patsy Romero of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Larry Romero and wife Sherice of McKinney, TX, Kenny Romero and companion Cynthia of Chimayo, grandson, Kenny Jr. and wife Denise, and great-granddaughter of Melody Love of California, Jimmy Romero of Hawthorne, CA, and David Romero and wife Becky of Gardena, CA; nephew, Bubba Martinez of Lyden plus numerous other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde, with a burial to follow to follow at the Velarde Catholic Cemetery.
