Ella D. Ortiz

Ella D. Ortiz, age 87, originally from La Madera, NM was called home to the Lord’s eternal care on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.  She was a care-giver to her family and friends.  This world will be at a loss without her.  She resided in Albuquerque, NM for many years, working and raising her family as well as her extended family.  She moved to Espanola, NM after the death of her husband, but her home was always, La Madera, NM, where her parents raised her and her three siblings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ortiz Sr, sister, Beltha Giron and granddaughter, Amy Ortiz. 

Ella is survived by her brothers, Isaac (wife Amelia) and Juan Giron.  Sons, Frank Ortiz Jr.  (wife Lourdes), and Melvin Ortiz Sr. (wife Rita). Grandchildren, Joy Sanchez, Rene Mercure, Melvin Ortiz Jr. and Francisco Ortiz. Great grandchildren, David Martinez, Autumn and Lucas Sanchez, Cameron and Caleb Mercure and Marissa and Amberly Ortiz. The Schmiders were her extended family whom she loved and help raise. She has many other relatives and friends who walked with her in this life and will miss her greatly. 

Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday December 27, 2022 at 11:00 am at the San Juan Catholic Church in Ohkay O'wingeh with burial to follow at 2:00 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
