Elizabeth Lobato

d. November 21, 2020

With sadness in our hearts, but joyful memories of her amazing life and beautiful smile, the family of Elizabeth Sara Lobato age 74 years  announces her passing on November 21, 2020.  From a sudden unexpected illness. Elizabeth Sara Valdez was born May 8, 1946 in Tres Piedras NM, to Elizar & Rosa Valdez, where she was born and raised with 8 other siblings: Ina, Amos, Elive, Rudy, Martha, Delores, Connie, and Tacho.  Elizabeth was a resident of  Santa Fe NM, where she raised her family and worked for Santa Fe Public Schools Student Nutrition Services for 33 years until she retired. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and so much more to many in the community.  She passed peacefully in the presence of family and loved ones.

Known as a mother to many, her greatest joys came after the birth of her daughter's Theresa and Carmela. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and dancing. Elizabeth loved everyone in her own special way.  She was respected by many but truly loved by all. She loved baking, sewing, cooking and taking care of her family. To Elizabeth cooking was not just a job, it was a passion. The family looked forward to sitting down to enjoy her cooking. Everything she made gave each one of us a full stomach and smile to part. Everything she cooked was delicious and made with love. The family looked forward to each and every meal with anticipation to spend time with such a beautiful woman.

She always had a story to share, Whether it was just to make you laugh or to teach you about life lessons.  No matter what was happening in her life she was always there to give you the lift you needed. Her presence lightened up the room and gave everybody a joyful smile knowing she was there for us all. Whether it was a head/back scratch, hugs, kisses, or a really long talk/phone call she was always there to provide comfort and wise words to help keep our spirits up.

She was preceded in death by both her parents Elizar and Rosa Valdez, her daughter Carmela Juarez-Quintana, granddaughter  Sonya Lobato, siblings Elive and Rudy Valdez.
