Elizabeth Connors

Elizabeth Inez Connors (Serrano), passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, at her home in Canjilon, NM.  Inez was born on January 9, 1954.  She was a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, NM, and currently lived in her beautiful home that her and her partner Reyes built in Canjilon, NM.

In life, Inez touched the hearts of many with her kindness and compassion.  She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.  Inez found joy in working at various places throughout her life but found true fulfillment working with children. In addition to leaving an impact on the lives she encountered through work; Inez’s greatest source of pride was undoubtedly her family.

Inez was preceded in death by her father Octaviano Ulibarri, her grandparents Pablo and Rebecca Jaramillo, her aunts Beverly Kar-Armendariz, Rosie McHenry, brother-in-law Bruce Bieber and sister-in -law Diane Serrano.

Inez is survived by her life partner Juan Reyes Valdez, son Matthew Gutierrez (Cecilia), daughter Lori Gutierrez (Gabriel), Mother Consuelo Ulibarri, sisters: Gloria Sanchez, Lucy Bieber and Rebecca Ulibarri, brothers:  Henry Serrano, Moises Serrano and John Ulibarri, grandchildren:  Matthew Gutierrez, Zachary Gutierrez (Morena), Zavior Gutierrez, Michael Martinez, Gabriel Roybal and Marcos Witkowski (Zoey), great grandchildren:  Nevaeh Gutierrez, Honesty Gutierrez, Makayla Witkowski, Zylah Gutierrez  and numerous nieces and nephews as well as a wide extended family and friends.

A devoted mother figure to all who knew her bestows upon them everlasting memories filled with laughter and love.   Her spirit will live on through each generation she has left behind.

A Viewing will be on June 14, 2024, at 9:00 am than a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am followed by a Mass at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Parish in Abiquiu NM.  Burial will follow at the Abiquiu Catholic Cemetery in Abiquiu, NM.
