It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Eliza G Martinez. Born May 16, 1944. She was surrounded by her loved ones when the Lord came for her on August 22, 2026 at her family home where she was born in Ohkay Owingeh, NM.

Eliza was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Josephine Gabaldon, her husband Richard Martinez, sisters Tonita Gabaldon, Pauline Aquino, Senaida Gabaldon, Gerri Ortiz, and her brother Paul Gabaldon.

Eliza is survived by her sister JoAnn Cruz (Johnny), children JoAnn Calabaza, Kim Abeita, and Gary Martinez. Her grandchildren, Lance Calabaza, Tenaya Abeita, Samuel Abeyta Junior, Meghan Martinez. Her great-grandchildren Chamuel Jaramillo, Mathayus Jaramillo, Angelo DeCora, Adrian Martinez, Kincaid Martinez, Savannah Martinez, Quinn Amos, Himawari Abeita, Isabella Abeita and many other family members.

Eliza was a joyous soul, loved by all that knew her. She was dedicated to her faith and service within the church community. She opened her home to everyone with care and comfort, providing words of wisdom. She loved all her Godchildren and everyone involved in her life.
