It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edna Mae Martinez, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend. Edna passed away after battling cancer for many years. She fought strong and hard. Edna entered this world on February 4, 1976, and brought love and warmth into the lives of all who knew her. She departed this life on December 29, 2024, surrounded by love and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Edna is survived by her loving mother Judy Romero; her children Brian (Deandra) and Vanessa Romero; her grandchildren Anthony, Laviana, Adelyanah, and baby Brian; her boyfriend Eric; her siblings: Amadita (Henry), Angelita (Salamon), Rosa (David), Esther, Faustina, Tino (Jenifer), Gene, and Moses (Sophia); her Godchildren, Nathaniel and Kassidy; and her stepmother, Marlene. Her influence reached far beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of many close relatives and friends who loved her deeply.

Edna joins her father Faustin Martinez and the father of her children Brian Lee Romero in eternal rest.

Though her passing leaves an unfillable void, her memory and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Edna’s Life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. Gravesite services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 11:00 am at the cemetery in Chili. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and remember her incredible spirit, unwavering love, and the legacy of compassion she leaves behind.

Rest in peace, Edna Mae Martinez. You will be missed, but your love and light will forever remain in our hearts.
