Edna Y Herrera 69, from Santa Cruz, New Mexico formally from Truchas departed this life surrounded by her loving family at her side on July 20, 2022.

Edna has been reunited in heaven with her sons Jason Anthony and Marvin Martinez, her parents Pantaleon and Sabinita, siblings, James, Johnny, Jimmy, Mary, Linda, and Rudy Herrera and grandson Raul Martinez.

She is survived by her sister Shirley Reynosa, brothers, Tony and Anita Herrera and Jimmy and Susanna Herrera. Granddaughters Monique and Laveena, God-children; Christopher Pacheco, Viva Rubio, Lish, Lexi Herrera; her best friend and partner Octavio (Diablo Jr.) Martinez; stepchildren Philip, Johnny, and Jolynn Martinez and many nieces and nephews. Edna was a beautiful loving and caring mother, sister, aunt and friend, she loved listening to KDCE and praying the rosary daily. She was always ready to lend a hand, give consejos and feed her visitors or anyone in need. She loved going to the mountains taking her boys fishing, picking pinion and remedios.

Public visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre De Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with the Hermanos De Cordova. Funeral mass will be on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, New Mexico with burial to follow at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas New Mexico. The family would like to extend an invitation to friends and family to a meal after at the Presbyterian Church Hall in Truchas.

Pallbearers accompanying Edna to her final resting place are Jimmy Herrera, Joe Romero, Junior Ruiz, Manual Trujillo, Phillip Martinez, and Christopher Pacheco.

Honorary Pallbearers are Pat, Lisha, Anthony, John, Linda, Meryssa, Josh, Concha, Davey, Jeremy, Makayla, Deanna, Jaydean, Izaiah, Lily, Melissa, Adriana, Analise, Lexi, Vanessa, Julio, Jorge, Juanito, Jerry, Nelson, and Julian.
