Eddie James Garcia

January 15, 1957 - Aug 3, 2026

Eddie J. Garcia passed away at the young age of 69, at his residence in La Puebla, NM. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolofo and Edith Garcia, daughter Tasha Garcia, brother Tommy Lee Garcia, sister Josephine Cortez, brother-in-law Charles Cortez and nephew Elmer N. Sanchez Jr.

He is survived by his partner of 32 years Suzanne Chavez, his daughter Jamie Garcia, grandchildren Jeremiah and Elijah Romero, sisters Lina Garcia and Betty Romero, brothers Sam Garcia and Ernest Garcia (Elizabeth Garcia). As well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Eddie worked for over 25 years and retired from the New Mexico Department of Transportation. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and would often take his nephews on fishing trips. He loved sports, especially watching his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers.

A Public Visitation will take place on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary at 11:30 a.m. and Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m.
