Dulcinea "Candy" Olguin

Dulcinea (Candy) Olguin, 90, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025.

Mom was raised in Tierra Amarilla where she was a teacher’s aide and studied at UNM and got her teaching degree. Later Mom became a cafeteria worker at LANL and various Casino's. Mom liked to dance, take trips to Colorado with her granddaughter, cooking and getting together with her kids and grandkids at her home. Mom loved football, she was a fan of the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos. Mom loved her Nieces and nephews, she would stay in touch with them and catch up on their lives.

Most of all, Mom was a devoted Catholic and had a great love for the Lord.

Mom is proceeded in death by her parents Alberto and Eufemia Garcia; granddaughter Valerie Olguin; grandson Raymond Martinez, son-in-law Gary Martinez; sisters Maria Louisa Garcia, Catherine (Julio) Martinez, Inez Garcia; brothers Bernie (Odella) Garcia, Eddie Garcia; and nephew Ricky Garcia.

Mom is survived by her four children; son Gilbert (Karri) Olguin; daughters Debra Martinez, Christie Olguin and Lynn (Eddie) Chavez; sister Becky (Donald) Moya; grandkids April (Matthew) Reynolds, Edward, Javi, Felicia and Alicia Chavez; great grandkids Amaya Archuleta, Destiny Garcia and many nephews and Nieces.

We want to thank all the people from Amber Care for the love and kindness they showed to our Mom and the family.

Services are pending.
