Donald Martinez

Donald D. Martinez, age 67, a resident of Medanales, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Justiniano and Eliza Martinez; brothers, Gilberto, Lloyd, and Juan Martinez; sons, Joe “Bolo” Chacon, Ronald “Lepe” Martinez, and David “Duke” Martinez; mother in-law, Deluvina Martinez; sister in-law, Delilah “Weda” Padilla; and nephew, Jacob Padilla. Donald loved the mountains, fishing, camping and hunting. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Donald is survived by his wife, Flora Martinez; daughters, Marytoni Padilla (Tino), Denise DeAguero, Jeannie Martinez, Crystal Valdez (Marty) and Annette Chacon; son, Dennis Chacon (Dorothy); grandsons, Nicholas Martinez, Sergio Avila and Fabian Martinez whom were raised as sons; granddaughters, Iesha and Donavine Martinez whom were raised as daughters; 27 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Yolanda, Lupe and Grace; compadre, Joe Herrera; as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. The family of Donald D. Martinez has entrusted the care of their beloved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of The Beautiful Española Valley.
