Donald Garcia Sr.
August 17, 1954 — March 14, 2026
Donald Garcia Sr., born August 17, 1954, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Aplastic Anemia. After receiving a bone marrow transplant in November, he fought with strength and resilience until his body could no longer continue, and God called him home.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Garcia; his father, Ismael Garcia Sr.; his son, Donald Garcia Jr.; and his sisters, Polly Aragon, Ester Gonzales, and Bernadette Nevarez.
Donald was a man who never met a stranger. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a special way of making people feel welcome and carried friendships wherever he went.
He found peace and joy in the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or heading out for firewood, those were the moments where he felt most at home. He loved sharing those experiences with others and created many lasting memories along the way.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marian Garcia; his son, Santiago Garcia (Divina), daughters Sierra and Zia; and his daughter, Celina Garcia, daughter Aspen. He is also survived by his four brothers, six sisters, three godchildren, and many nieces and nephews. His family was his greatest pride and joy.
