Dominic “Miklo” Martinez, 27, a resident of Lower San Pedro passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 7, 2011. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandma, Cleo Alire; paternal grandma, Romie Martinez; father, Anthony Martinez; aunt, Evelyn Martinez and a friend that was like a brother, Richard Rael. Dominic is survived by his son, Josiah Martinez; mother, April Alire; brother, Anthony Martinez and wife Belinda; sister, Michelle Martinez and companion Greg Ortiz; loved nieces, Lisa and Bethany Martinez, Kianna Moreland and Alyissa Alire; cousin that was like a brother, Joseph Alire all of Lower San Pedro; special friends who were like brothers, Adrian Roybal and Isaac Esquibel; paternal grandfather, Antonio Martinez of Chimayo; special aunt, Debbie Harrier and husband Dale of San Pedro; close cousins: Jovanna, Dannielle and Devon of San Pedro; numerous other loving relatives & many, many friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. also at Victory Faith Church in Española. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz with the following serving as pallbearers, Isaac Esquibel, George Maes, Pete Lopez, Adrian Roybal, Anthony Martinez, Shawn Abrams, Greg Ortiz, Joseph Alire and Keith Romero. Honorary pallbearers named are, Fawn Singer, Gerald Dixon, William Bebot, Julio Hernandez, Ikie Martinez and Michelle Martinez. Memorial contribution can be made to Valley National Bank in the name of April Alire or Dominic Martinez.
