Dominic Tafoya

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the kind, loving, and humble hearted, Dominic N. Tafoya. Dominic, a 48-year-old resident of Truchas, NM, left this world on Friday May 24, 2024. 

Dominic is survived by his mother Patricia DeAguero Tafoya (Patsy) and was preceded in death by his father Ray Tafoya. 

He is also survived by his brother Dean Tafoya; sister Trish Tafoya Manzanares and husband Pablo Manzanares; nephews Antonio Tafoya, Isaac Martinez, and Enrique Tafoya; nieces WrayAnne Martinez and Elizabeth Tafoya; step nephew Nick Manzanares; great nephews Mayson Salazar, his baby and Elijah Salazar, his gringo; his extended family Aunts; Grace Chavez, Umelia Martinez, Cindy Tafoya and husband Ray McKinnis, and Eloise Lara and husband Lawrence Lara; close cousins Chris Martinez, Robert and Ricky DeAguero, and Angela Montoya and many close friends!

Dominic was born in Santa Fe, NM on March 20, 1976. He grew up in Truchas, NM where he enjoyed camping, fishing, and barbequing. Dominic was employed with Los Alamos National Laboratory, Lowe’s and Eddie Velarde Fruit Basket Company. His passion was watching his favorite football team the San Francisco 49ers. Family and Friends will all miss him and cherish the memories he has left behind.

A Memorial Service will be held at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, June3, 2024 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at 6:00 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM at 2:00 p.m.
