Dolores Martinez

Dolores (Olivas) Martinez age 84, passed away suddenly on March 31, 2022. Dolores was born and raised in El llano. New Mexico. She met the love of her life Roman Martinez and they moved to Los Angeles, California. years later,  Dolores and Roman moved to Norwalk California where she built a home and a family for many years until they moved back to Espanola, New Mexico in 2018.

Dolores was preceded in death by her two sons, Vincent (Brenda) and Charles Martinez. Her grandchildren Roman III and Patricia Martinez. Her parents Sotero and Angelita Olivas. Her brothers: Sirenio Olivas (Francis), Epifanio Olivas (Virgie), Raymond Olivas (Flora) and Ernesto Olivas (Opal), and sisters: Mary Martinez (Fredrico) and Bernie Valdez (Felipe).
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roman Martinez. Her son Roman Martinez Jr, (Patricia), Granddaughters: Lena Rios (Richard), Jennifer Martinez (Jimmy), Bernadette Montez (Larry), Dolores Meza and Angel Martinez. Her great grandson and great granddaughter who cared for her Roman Raymond Navarro and Destiny Escobar. She is survived by 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She had several nieces, nephews and in laws whom she loved dearly.
Pallbearers are Roman Raymond Navarro, Bernard Jacob Navarro, Richard Rios, Ruben Rios, Ritchie Prieto, and Larry Montez. Serving as honorary Pallbearers: Lena Rios, Dolores Meza, Jennifer Martinez, Bernadette Martinez, Angel Martinez; Dolores’ great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at 5:00 pm with a rosary to follow at 7:00 pm at the DeVargas Funeral Home of Espanola on April 18, 2022. The funeral Mass will be held on April 19, 2022 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz at 11:00 am with burial to take place at a later date. Masks will be mandatory for attendance.
