With profound sadness we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched on October 8, 2022. She was 92 years old. A lifelong resident of Dixon, Dila was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and dear friends. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was.

Dila was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso; her son, Patrick; her father, Alberto; mother, Amanda; brothers, Alfonso Lee, Roger, Arturo, Leroy and sisters Edna and Esther.

Dila lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and patient care aide. Her past work endeavors included working at the Embudo and Espanola Hospitals and continued working for several years at Santa Maria Mirador.

Dila was also skilled with crocheting, painting, quilting, along with many other talents that she had. She also enjoyed her weekly outings to the senior activities with her dearest friends. A farm girl at heart, gardening was also a passion especially when she was able to plant her beautiful flowers on a yearly basis. Most of all she loved her family and instilled her daughters with strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. 

Dila is survived by her daughters, Margaret Romero (Leonard), Kathy Sanchez, and Lisa Sisneros (Ray); grandchildren, Leonard, Amanda (Julio), Jacob, Eric (Autumn), Adam (D’Ann), Zachary; great grandchildren, Roman, Nikolas. Diego, Laney, Camden, Tatum and Savannah; sisters in laws, Nora Rogers, Norina Ortiz, Evelyn Lovato (Juanito), and Virginia Griego; brother in laws, Nelson Romero and Ignacio Chavez; and numerous nieces and nephews who had a special place in her heart. 

Pallbearers are Margaret Romero, Kathy Sanchez, and Lisa Sisneros.

Honorary Pallbearers are all her Grandchildren and Great grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 9:30 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dixon, New Mexico, with a Christian Mass to follow. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 2:30 pm.
