Denise Lerae "Dee" Martinez, a beloved daughter, sister, partner, mother, and friend, passed away on March 10, 2026, inside her beautiful home surrounded by loved ones in Santa Cruz, New Mexico. Denise brought light and joy to all who knew her during her 51 years of life.

Denise was preceded in death by her mother Dianne Gutierrez; father Dennis Martinez; grandparents Victoria and Reyes Martinez and Mela and Manuel Sanchez. 

Denise’s family meant everything to her, and she found immense joy in spending time with them.

She is survived by her partner Manuel Vargas; sons Andres Villa and his wife Ashley, along with their children Gracie and Andres Jr.; Santiago Villa and his significant other Miranda, along with their daughter Chloe Lerae; her sister Miquela Feliz Gutierrez and her son Diesel; and her brother Reyes Martinez. Denise also enjoyed the love of her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Denise had a deep love for taking care of her family, friends, and anyone she crossed paths with. She was an amazing cook and she always credited her talent to her Grandma Vicky. Denise enjoyed going to her families ranch in Wagon Mound, NM and cruising through the mountains, going for wood, fishing, and sharing these moments with family and friends.

Denise was a proud employee of UPS, where formed countless friendships and created cherished memories that lasted a lifetime. Her dedication to her work and the bonds she built with her colleagues were a testament to her warm and caring nature.

Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her. May the love she shared continue to bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.

A Funeral will be held in Denise’s honor on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz, NM (126 S McCurdy Rd Espanola, NM 87532).
