Deluvina Geneva Martinez, a life-long resident of Canjilon, NM, sadly passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, with her family by her side after fighting her last and final battle. She was born in Leadville, Colorado on September 9, 1962 to Aquilino and Dolores Baca.

Deluvina (Luby) is preceded in death by both her parents, Aquilino and Dolores Baca and her father and mother-in-law Abran and Eduvigen Martinez.

She spent 45 beautiful years married to her loving husband, Eloy Martinez, and together they raised 3 amazing children. Santiago Jeremy Martinez (Jackie) and his children, Brianna Marina, Santiago Jr, and Michael. Jennifer Deluvina Martinez (Jared) and her children Abigail Deluvina, Anthony Jay and Owen. Jessica Maria Ortega (Joe) and their children Isabella, Natalia and Jeremiah.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Stephen Baca (Angela), Ismael (Junior) Sandoval, Kiki (Aquilino) Baca, Eileen Gallegos (Gilbert), Bertha Bailey (Michael), Susan Trujillo (Andy), Barbara Stamps (James), Kathy Gallegos (Henry), Audra Romero (Ricardo) and Carmen LeDoux (Dominic) and many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, God children and friends.

Luby lived a beautiful life enjoying every second she could with her family. She loved going to see her grandbabies play in all of their sports and all of their school activities. She spent the last 10 years in Santa Fe with her husband, where she retired from the NM State Behavioral Health Department. She enjoyed travelling, outdoor activities and spending time with her husband.

Luby, the matriarch of this family, will always be remembered for her great strength, her compassion and kindness to everyone and above all, her faith in God.

Pallbearers are Santiago Jr. Martinez, Michael Martinez, Jeremiah Ortega, Estevan Gallegos, Ramos Baldonado, Trino Martinez, Gabriel Baca, and Abraham Baca. Honorary pall barriers are her padrino Paul Baca and youngest grandson, Anthony Jay Apodaca.

A Viewing will take place in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home on February 11, 2026, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. A rosario will be prayed at the Canjilon San Juan de Nepomuceno Church at 6:00pm with the Eulogy to follow.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Canjilon San Juan de Nepumoceno Church on February 12, 2026, at 11:00 am with a burial at the Canjilon Community Cemetary.
