Beloved Delfinia Archuleta, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at her home in Ojo Sarco, New Mexico on December 25, 2020 in the loving arms of her children. She was born to Daniel Velarde & Felicita Leyba in Las Trampas, New Mexico on December 24th.

She was a strong and independent woman who dedicated her life to her family. She loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking delicious meals for them. She was also a devout woman of faith who instilled those values in her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Archuleta, son-in-law, Pedro Chacon, and all but one sibling.

Delfinia is survived by her loving children who cared for her during her illness, son Dennis Archuleta who was there every day and wife Christine of Ojo Sarco, Abad Archuleta and Reyna of Los Lunas, Delfido Archuleta and Melva of Pojoaque, daughters Connie Chacon of Peñasco, Frances Coriz and husband Eppie of Chimayo, and Rita Archuleta of the family home in Ojo Sarco, sister Margaret Velarde, and sister-in-law Teresina Velarde. She is survived by her grandchildren who held a special place in her heart, Manuel Chacon who she helped raise until he was of school age, Christina Gonzales and husband Gabriel, Timmy Chacon and wife Debbie, Antonia Leyba, Lisa Kedge and husband Chris, Alanna Tafoya and husband Santana, Abad Archuleta Jr. and wife Stephanie, Dathan Archuleta, Jolene Casados and husband Darren, Roseanna Archuleta, Matthew Coriz and wife Claudia, Andrew Coriz and Desiree, Candace Archuleta, Kevin Segars and Heather.

She is also Survived by great-grandchildren, Prince, Nailah, Aubrey, Brielle, Jazmyn, Antonio, Amelia, Marissa, Brianna, Lucas, Issac, Arianna, Darien, Rico, Caroline, Catherine, Francis, Iziah, Aliah, Vicente, Daniel, Reyes, Lacie, Justin, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Rosary will be held at Holy Family Parish on Wednesday, January 6, 2021at 10:15 am followed by the mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am (masks and social distancing are mandatory). There will be a limit of 80 people, and there will not be access to restrooms.

Burial will be held at the National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 2:15 pm, with only immediate family allowed to attend.

Pallbearers are Manuel Chacon, Candace Archuleta, Matthew Coriz, Andrew Coriz, Dathan Archuleta and Roseanna Archuleta.

Honorary Pallbearers are Timmy Chacon, Abad Archuleta Jr., and Prince (El Chiquito). The family of Delfinia Archuleta has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477-www.devargasfuneral.com
