Deborah Jo Herrera, 68, of San Juan Pueblo, NM, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 12, 2025.

She was born on April 18, 1957, to Consuelo Whitehouse and the late Jose Herrera.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Herrera; her granddaughter, Adrianna Calvert; former significant other Aaron Michael Losey; and five late siblings.

Remaining to cherish Deborah’s memory are her mother Consuelo Whitehouse; her siblings John, Nora, Bryanna, Viviene, Jose; her former spouse Enrique S. Bueno; her children, Heather Herrera, Aaron Michael Losey Jr., Jessica Herrera (Spouse Michael Garcia), Stephanie Herrera, and Erica Calvert (Spouse Gene Calvert); nine grandchildren, Mariah Losey, Mia Quintero, Christina Brown, Aaron Losey III, Lynnaeah Losey, Bethany Losey, Devin Calvert, Michael Losey, and Kaleb Calvert; and two great-grandchildren, William Villa and Rosabella Villa.

Deborah dedicated many years to public service. She worked in law enforcement with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, San Juan Tribal and Española Police Departments, served as a correctional officer and booker at the Santa Fe Correctional Facility, worked as an emergency dispatcher in Las Cruces, and later provided security and surveillance for the Cities of Gold and Camel Rock Casinos, concluding her safe-guarding career at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Deborah will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her devotion to family, and the love and guidance she gave to all who knew her.

Funeral services were held August 15, 2025, at 8:00 am at St. John the Baptist Church.
