Dean O Barnhart

Dean O. Barnhart born October 22,1947, age 75, a resident of Espanola passed away on November 28,2022. 

Dean is preceded in death by his parents Owen and Dora Barnhart, sister Marlene Hickel, twin brother Dale Barnhart, mother- in-law Ramona Vigil, Father-in-law Felimon Vigil and stepson Christopher Tapia.

Dean worked retail sales retiring from Sears but later working for Lowe’s Home Improvement Center. He fully retired in June 2020. He spent most of his time watching sports, especially the Vikings and Twins which were his favorite teams.

He survived by his wife Evelyn Tapia-Barnhart of Espanola, sons, Paul Barnhart (Nikki), and Pete Barnhart (Tanya) both of Sioux Falls SD, Daughters Cassie and Amanda Barnhart both also of Sioux Falls SD, Grandchildren Tate, Tyler, Avery, Xzavier and Isaiah all of Sioux Falls SD. Sister Jeane Johnson (Dick) of Brooklyn Center MN, Sister-in-law Kathy Barnhart of San Antonio Texas, Brother-in-law Harold Hickel of Detroit Lakes MN. Nephews Ron, Steve, Duane, and Jonathan and nieces, Kathy, Becky, Beth and Nicky, stepson Robert Tapia (Alesia) of Los lunas NM, step daughter Shaynna Tapia of Rio Rancho NM, step Grandchildren Christopher Jr., Tiffany, Andalese and Aurora, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, Vernon, Lynaya, Maddie, and Liam, sister-in-laws Julie Marquez of Espanola NM, and Darlene Parker (Kurt Miller) of La Puebla NM, Brother-in laws Richard Vigil (Margarita) of Espanola NM, Clyde Vigil (Guadalupe) of Alcalde NM, Tito Vigil (Joann) of La Puebla NM, and Leonard Vigil (Angela) of Grants NM; God Children, Christopher Jr., Leroy, Ashley, Jerome, Tiffani, Jayden, Antonio, and Andalese.

Services scheduled are for Friday December 9, 2022 with a rosary at 10:00 am with a Mass to follow at 10:30 am at the San Juan Bautista Catholic Church with burial to follow at the El Guique Cemetery.
