Deacon Harold Gallegos

Deacon Harold M. Gallegos, 63, of Los Brazos, NM passed away on June 1, 2021 at his home.

Harold was born on May 14, 1958 in Santa Fe, NM to Manuel and Susie Gallegos. He graduated from Escalante High School and attended business courses in Albuquerque. He later started work at Red & Mid Foods in Chama; then went to Chama Valley Supermarket, where he worked 39.5 years until his health declined. He will be greatly missed by all and will be remembered for his infectious smile.

Always strong in his faith, Harold was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. On June 21, 2014, he was ordained a Deacon at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe, NM. He served the San Jose and St. Patrick parishes in northern New Mexico for several years.

Harold was proceeded in death by his father, Manuel, and his mother, Susie. He is survived by his brother, Frank and his wife, Mary, his niece, Janice and her husband, Jason, his aunt Frances, as well as numerous family and friends.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos, NM. Rosary at 10:00 am, Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, with burial to follow mass. Serving the family as pallbearers are Charlie Ferrell, Manuel Valdez, Steve Polaco, Greg Friday, Bobby Mercure, and Henry Gallegos. Please respect all Covid-19 guidelines during services.
