David Patricio Rodriguez

David Patricio Rodriguez, 74, of La Puebla, New Mexico, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on June 27, 2024. 

David was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Olympia Rodriguez, in-laws Ramon and Frances Padilla, brothers Juanito, Richard and Leonard Rodriguez, and Tommy Herrera who he raised as his son. 

David is survived by his wife Katie of 55 years and his children Juan Rodriguez (Michelle), Rebecca Martinez (Brian), Jesse and Jamie Rohrs who he considered as his sons, and his close nephew Joshua Duran (Erminda); his grandchildren Dominic (Katie), Micaela, and Damian. Marissa, Hannah (Nico), and Kaitlyn; his great-grandson Alexander; sisters Jonah, JoAnn (Emilio), Yvonne (Jesse), Elizabeth (Jerome), Sally, Judy (Larry), Darlene (Gilito) and June; brother Arthur (Barbara); his Aunts Mabel, Dorothy, Gabby, Roberta. Uncles, Orlando Vigil, and Remi Roybal. He was much-loved by the Padilla family Georgia, Ruby, Ella (John), Diana (Patrick), Kristy (Gabe). Brother-In-Laws, Tony (Anita), Michael, Joseph, Roy (Josie), and Frankie (Kathy). 

David retired after 34 years as a lineman with the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM). He was an organizing member of the La Puebla Volunteer Fire Department where he held various positions, including Fire Chief, during his 23 years with the department. He was also instrumental in the establishment of the Arroyo Seco Fire sub-station. 

A Memorial Service for David will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10:00 am at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, New Mexico.
