Marysville, WA

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved father David Aguilar, 69, of Espanola, New Mexico, on April 19, 2024,  David was with his daughter and family in Marysville, WA,  when he passed.

David was preceded in death by his mother Mary Rubal, father Frederick Aguilar and sister Christine Evers-Aguilar.

David is survived by his sister Virginia Abbey, brother Joseph Martinez, daughter Jennifer Aguilar, grandkids Cameron 22, Jayden 20 and Chase 15, stepsons Clint and Rick Jones, nephew Diego and niece Evita.

David went into banking/finance for 20+ years. He then went on to Espanola Schools to chaperone kids of all ages within the district. David enjoyed working with all the kids. He would tell stories of playing basketball and throwing the football with them. David focused on being a support for the kids and encouraged them to be the best they could be.

As young man David was an eagle scout and spoke of memories visiting the White House. He loved traveling and sightseeing, music, dancing, and all sports. He was great at playing pool and was known as a pool shark. David was a devoted Seahawks, Mariners, UW and WSU fan and continued to be even after moving back to New Mexico where he was surrounded by Dallas Cowboy and Bronco’s fans.

David loved spending time with family and friends. David was a devoted father and grandpa. David spoke often of his grandkids Cameron 22, Jayden 20, and Chase 15. David’s time with his grandkids was spent playing basketball, throwing the football, playing pool, and daily adventures sightseeing. David enjoyed calling his grandkids during sporting events to discuss the games. The grandkids were always impressed with how knowledgeable and up to date he was with sports. David was a proud grandpa and loved spending time with them.

David spent the last 6 weeks with his daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Chris and Chase in Marysville WA. David was well cared for during this time and enjoyed being with family. He spent time doing crossword puzzles, watching Gunsmoke, going to the casino and having his daily beer.

The family would like to thank everyone who reached out to David and family during this time. A special thanks to Providence Hospice team for their care of David during this difficult time.
