Daniel Quintana

LDaniel G. Quintana, born July 21, 1962, in Espanola, NM, graduated from Espanola Valley High School in 1980, attended Northern New Mexico Community College and worked for the New Mexico State Game & Fish where he retired after 26 years of service. 

Dan passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 13, 2025.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents Perry and Elaine Quintana; grandparents Fred and Amelia Quintana who raised him since he was 4 years old; grandparents Felix and Margaret Maestas; uncles Fred Quintana (wife Diana), Norberto Maestas and aunt Barbara Gomez (husband Simon).

He is survived by his wife Nora (Correa) Quintana of 14 years; his brother Johnny Quintana (wife Theresa); nephews Jacob and Paul Quintana; stepmother Virginia Quintana; uncles Johnny Quintana (wife Esther) and Leonard Maestas. Also, many other aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.

Dan had an unquenchable love all animals and most dearly loved his dogs and cats and enjoyed watching other people's animals while they were on vacation.  He always had time for everyone and would spend every free moment calling family and friends on his phone to see how they are doing.  Dan never missed an opportunity to go fishing with his uncles, traveling with his wife on vacation trips, and would never forget to call you up on your birthday.  Dan was also an avid Denver Bronco fan.  Dan will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and his unmatched ability to make people laugh out loud by telling his countless silly stories.  His absence will be felt by many.

A public visitation will begin on Tuesday July 1, 2025 at 5:00 pm in the Sangre De Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to follow at 6:00 pm. 

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, NM.
