It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Farrell Milligan age 49 of Los Alamos, NM. Dan died peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2011 surrounded by family and friends at New Mexico Heart Hospital in Albuquerque, NM following a long illness. Dan was born on March 20, 1962 in Freemont, NE to Donald F. and Sally E. Milligan. He married Thersea Wright on December 18, 1994 in Las Cruces, NM. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from New Mexico State University. He was so proud to be a nurse and enjoyed helping as many people as possible. He was a wonderful husband and father to his three children, teaching, encouraging and always proud of their accomplishments. The example he taught of loving, respecting, and helping others has enriched all of our lives more than words can express. Dan enjoyed shooting at the rifle range and playing with his children. He was an outdoorsman that had a zeal for life. He loved watching auto racing and always could tell you the latest statistics on the circuit. He had a great sense of humor and always saw the glass as half full. He is survived by his parents, Donald and Sally Milligan; wife, Theresa Milligan; children, Amanda, Dustin, and Katie-Lynn Milligan; siblings, Michael Milligan, Tim Milligan, Kelly Milligan, and Christy Zahn. As well as his uncle and aunt Bob and Anna Lee Brizendine, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. At his request, cremation will take place and internment of remains will occur at a later date at First Baptist Church in White Rock. In lieu of flowers, please become an organ donor.
