Dale Benjamin Chacon, 59, went home with the Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. A resident of Spartanburg S.C., will be deeply missed. Dale was born August 17, 1958, in EI Rito, New Mexico. Dale Benjamin was a veteran of the US Army. He was predeceased by his father, Jose P. Chacon, mother, Anna Maria Chacon, Sisters Agapita C. Lucero, Joanne L. Chacon, Demitilla Peterson, and Prescilla E. Gaviria and brothers Tomas Chacon, Jacob Gallegos, and Jose Gallegos. Surviving him is a son, Ben Dulaney Chacon (Kimberly) and a daughter Sara Crystal Poston (Ned), and his six grandchildren; brothers, Ted (Irene) Chacon of California, Prudy (Carmen) Chacon, Tony Chacon of El Rito, Fedelino (Tonita) of Los Luceros, Chris (Maxine) Chacon of Taos, Eusebio Chacon (Susana Garcia) of El Rito; sisters, Beatrice (Andrew) Gonzales of Shadow Mountain, Tila Chacon (David Suazo) of El Rito, and Ermelinda (Allen) Crim of Abiquiu; niece, who was raised like a sister, Priscilla Lorraine Chacon of Arizona, and many nieces and nephews throughout the United States. A rosary will be recited on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at San Juan de Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Serving the family as honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, Ted, Prudy, Tony, Fedelino, Chris, and Eusebio Chacon.
