Crystal R. Hunt – Age 31, a native of Velarde passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011. \r\nCrystal loved and respected her sisters very much, Crystal was a very loving daughter who adored her mother but was also “Daddy’s Little Girl”. She enjoyed being with her pets LE and ZE her dogs. Crystal loved to cook, and was a great gardener. Crystal had so many friends who thought of her as a caring and gentle friend. Her passion was her clothes; she had to make sure everything was coordinated and matching. Crystal had a love for cars especially her Cadillac and her truck and took pride in her tattoos. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Ella Padilla, Cipriano Padilla and wife Dora; and paternal grandparents: JC and Ina Hunt; aunt, Judy Foster; uncles: Leroy Padilla and Bill Padilla; cousin, John Felter; Godfather, Ed Velarde; and friend, Michael DeAguero who she loved like a brother. \r\nShe is survived by her wife, Elizabeth Sanchez; nephews, John and Niko Sanchez; brother and sister-in-law, John and Veronica Sanchez and Eva Sanchez; nephew, Julian Gutierrez; niece, Monica Sanchez; mother, Dolores Sly of Pojoaque; father, Leo Hunt and wife Delia of Santa Fe; sisters: Brenda Salazar and husband David of La Canova, Jessica Hunt of Pojoaque, Monica Armijo and husband Marcos of Española and Desiree Gallegos and husband Alonzo of La Bajada, NM; nephews: Adrian, Vincent and Paul Salazar of La Canova, Brandon Hunt (Mariah) of Española, Javier Vigil of Cundiyo and Matthew Armijo of Española; great-niece, who she loved alot, Azlyanna Hunt of Española; aunts, Vangie Felter, Phyllis Taylor , Consuelo Lopez of CA, Sandra Batista, Leila Archuleta (Floyd), Martha Padilla and Sophie Bazan; uncles, John Lucero, Leonard Maes, Don Hunt and wife June, Harold Hunt and wife Nancy and their families and Alex Padilla (Pia) of Española; cousins: Teresa Felter of CO, Rita Felter (Robert), Angela Romero (Paul), and Nikki Taylor (Jon) all of Rio Rancho, Melanie, Anna Padilla of Pojoaque, Kenny Padilla (Liz) of Albuquerque Pepper Thompson, Lynn Arendall (Michael) , Dean Lucero, all of Placitas, NM, Julian Rendon (Paula) of Española, Joseph Rendon (Josie) of Velarde and Christopher Trujillo of Abiquiu; Entire Velarde and Sanchez Family of Velarde/Dixon and numerous relatives and friends. \r\nPublic visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Devargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: John Sanchez, John Sanchez III, Adrian,Vincent and Paul Salazar, Brandon Hunt, Matthew Armijo and Jon Minssen. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: John Sanchez, Joe Lopez, Phil Chavez, Mesha Delgado, Renee Martinez, Ari Salazar, Vanessa (Nessy) Martinez, Jovan Johnson, Victoria Chavez, Timmy Peña, Matthew and Jonathan Minssen.
