Cornelio Trujillo, age 91, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Eloisa Trujillo; infant daughter Priscilla; brother, Juan Trujillo and Corina Trujillo; daughter in law, Rachel Trujillo. Cornelio was a strong, hardworking man that never stopped. As a young man, he left school to support his mother and his siblings after his father passed away. Since then, he became a master carpenter and worked in New Mexico and Colorado on various sites, which include the Air Force Academy, LANL, Abiquiu Dam, and Heron Dam. Upon his retirement, he continued to work as a carpenter and worked with animals on the ranch. He loved and respected the great outdoors. He especially loved to be on horseback moving cattle. You could always find him irrigating and working on the aciequia. We will feel him in every raindrop, snowflake and breeze against our face. The lessons he taught us will live on for generations and he will be missed by all. Go in peace.
