In Loving Memory of Connie Salazar
Connie Salazar, 85, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving family on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, and went home to be with our Heavenly Father.
Connie was born on February 24, 1941, in Canoñes, New Mexico. She later made her home in La Mesilla, where she built a life centered around family, hard work, and love.
Connie was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and caring sister. She was known for her independent spirit, strong work ethic, humble nature, and compassionate heart.
Connie’s greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind, and the values she instilled in them. Her love, strength, independence, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Dianna; her sons, Bobby and John, her grandchildren Dylan, and Desiree Salazar. Parents Sabiniano Lovato and Delfinia Martinez; siblings, David, Miguel, Angelina, Alicia, and Clara. Godchildren; Patrick, Andrew, Rhonda and Delma.
Connie is survived by her children, Edward (Grace), Lenore, Denise Salazar, and daughter-in-law Evelynn Moya Salazar; her siblings, Adelires Jaquez (Anselmo), Rosabel Salazar, Frank (Pancho), Sabiniano Jr, Emilio, Fernando, Adelia, Rosenda (Miguel), Martha (Lonisio), Annie (Angel), Bonnie, Delfinia, Fernanda (Tim), and Terry; her 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, Luca, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, 21st of August 2026, at 7:00 PM, at Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.
