Connie Leone Blair Johnson Merrill

May 2, 1961 – August 1, 2025

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Connie Leone Blair Johnson Merrill, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 64.

Connie was born May 2, 1961, in Ogden, Utah, to Dewain Medwin Blair and Leone Madsen Blair. She grew up in Clearfield, Utah, and for the past 36 years made her home in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where she touched countless lives with her warmth, service, and love.

On July 12, 1979, Connie was sealed to Michael F. Johnson in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised a beautiful family and shared many years of love before Michael’s passing in April 2015. Later, Connie was blessed to find love again with Amos Merrill, whom she married on April 20, 2018.

Family was at the center of Connie’s life. She is survived by her children: Kimberly (Keith), Jamie (Taylor), Timothy (Heidi), Shelli (Kent), Heather (Michael), and Katherine (Ernesto); and stepchildren Josh (Alex). She adored her 22 grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren (one deceased), each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her siblings Ron (Jane), Jean, Paul (Karen), and Barbara, and is preceded in death by her sister Mary and Stepson Jacob.

Connie’s life was filled with creativity and faith. She was a gifted artist, finding joy in painting, watercolor, sewing, and quilting. Her talents reflected her vibrant spirit, and her works of art continue to bring beauty and comfort to those she loved.

Her faith in God and Jesus Christ was unwavering. Throughout her life, she faithfully served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including Young Women Leader, Seminary and Institute Teacher, Relief Society President, Primary and Sacrament Meeting Chorister, and many more. She magnified each calling with devotion and love, blessing everyone she served.

Connie will be remembered for her kindness, her outgoing and fun-loving nature, her willingness to help others, and her steadfast testimony of the gospel. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and service that will continue to inspire her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., with a viewing at 9:30 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1967 18th Street, Los Alamos, New Mexico.
