Clyde Roach, 91, a long-time and respected resident of White Rock passed away on March 4, 2017, of natural causes at Los Alamos Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ann Roach, and daughters Beverly Mattson, Pam Mackey, and Sara Evans. Clyde was well-known in the area as a concrete contractor and home builder. He enjoyed going fishing and boating, was an avid reader, and baseball fan. He became appreciated for sharing homemade peanut brittle and chocolate chip cookies. He was a great storyteller who delighted in humorous embellishments. Clyde was also a Master Mason and a 65-year member of the Lone Grove Lodge #25 of Oklahoma. Clyde was a hard-working devoted family man but many others also recognized his truly friendly nature and abundant generosity. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his sister Lillie Harris of Oklahoma, children Cathy Burris of Idaho, Linda Major of Arizona, Brenda White of Florida, and David Buchanan of Louisiana. His life was blessed with 6 sons-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law and 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other relatives, friends, and neighbors. Clyde’s family will host a come and go memorial celebration of his life on March 19, 2017, from 2-4 pm at the White Rock Senior Center, located at 133 Longview Dr. in White Rock, N.M. As a Navy veteran burial with Military Honors will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
