Clarence H. Martinez Sr, (89) former resident of Arroyo de Agua and current resident of Espanola joined our Lord on September 23, 2021.
Clarence was born at the family ranch in Agua Sarca on May 29, 1932, to Jose Eugenio and Rosa Martinez.
He worked for the Espanola Police Department in the 1960s and was a Rio Arriba County Deputy Sheriff in the 1970s. He later became a Rancher and Sheep Herder until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; Sons: Jose Eugenio and Daniel. Daughter Mildred; Grandson Dominic Herrera; Son-in-law, Pablo Valdez, Jr., Parents, Jose Eugenio and Rosa Martinez; Parents-in-law, Jose R. and Rosa Pina-Archuleta plus numerous other Siblings, and Relatives.
He is survived by his Daughters: Rosie Valdez, Geraldine Martinez, Tammie Lambert (Patrick). Sons: Clarence, Jr. (Lou Ann), Richard (Marlene), and Raymond. Son-in-Law Walter Herrera. Grandchildren: Jonathan, David (Tara), Michael (Melissa), Johnny, David (Erica), Jennifer (Cory), Matias (Markisha), Nadine, Shawn, Shanaya (Darrom), Latisha (Thomas), Justin (Cheyenne), Miranda, Gabriel, Great-Grandchildren, Jalina, Miquella, Kayleena, Jordyn, Delylah, Lugarda, Alianna, Ethan, Justin and Zuri.
Brother: Leo Martinez (Vicenta) of Pueblo, Colorado
Sister-in-laws: Martha Archuleta of Espanola, Martha Sanchez-Archuleta of La Mesilla, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Godchildren: Elaine Martinez, Jonathan Martinez, and Anna Maria Pina
A rosary will be prayed on Saturday October 2, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz de La Canada with a mass of Christian burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. also at Santa Cruz de la Canada with a burial to follow in the Coyote Community Cemetery in Coyote.
Serving the family as Pallbearers are: Michael Martinez, Jonathan Martinez, David Martinez, Latisha Martinez, Nadine Martinez and Johnny Valdez.
Honorary Pallbearers are all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and godchildren.
