Senaida (Sadie) Trujillo Quintana, age 95 from Nambe, New Mexico, passed away with her family by her side, on Saturday, May 24, 2025. She was born on February 22, 1930, in Rio Chama, NM. Her parents were Ramon and Adelia Vigil of Medanales, NM.

Sadie spent her childhood in Medanales, but as a young woman she found work at the La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe. While working there she met her future husband, Salomon Trujillo. They moved to Nambe and built a home where they raised their 7 children. While raising her family, Sadie was employed by the Pojoaque Valley Schools as a bus driver. In addition to driving students, during the summer she helped with driving firefighters to remote forest fires around New Mexico. She also founded the Ponderosa Pine 4-H club in Nambe, NM.

Sadie was a courageous woman with a wonderful sense of humor. She played numerous pranks on both family and friends. She had a passion for the visual arts that she expressed through painting beautiful southwestern landscapes, flowers and animals. She also loved sculpture and could transform any object into a beautiful, three-dimensional work of art. She spent many hours creating clay creatures with all her grandchildren.

Sadie is survived by her seven children, Alfred Trujillo (wife Erimar), Oliver Trujillo (wife Helen), LuAnn Baca, Albert Trujillo (wife Leslie), Orlando Trujillo (wife Jusselene), Luella Trujillo (husband Andrew), and Antoinette Jiron (husband James). She is also survived by her two sisters, Trinnie Vaughn of Tyler, Texas and Antonia Lopez of Monte Vista, Colorado, 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Sadie was proceeded in death by her first husband, Salomon A Trujillo, her second husband Pablo Quintana, her three brothers Arturo Vigil, Ramon Vigil and Jose Gomicindo Vigil, her son-in-law Patrick Baca Jr., and her great grandchild Mateo John David.

As requested by Sadie, a private funeral service will be held for only her immediate family. Burial will be in the Nambe Cemetery alongside her first husband.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all their friends and extended family for the love, support, and friendship they shared and gave to Sadie during her lifetime. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

The family of Senaida Quintana has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the beautiful Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477
