Celina Borrego

Celina 92, was a strong-willed, vibrant and a very independent woman. At times she could be fiery and unforgettable and by her own admission stubborn beyond reason.  She graduated from Santa Cruz High School as a proud Crusader.  Celina worked for the Sombrillo Elementary school in the culinary Dept. until 1995 when she retired after 25 years.  Celinas parents were Cesar and Genoveva Borrego who were hard working subsistence farmers who lived along the beautiful Santa Cruz River valley.  Celina was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother, Mela Quintana, Susan Robinson, Martha Denault, and brother Santana Borrego.

Celina is survived by nephew John Robinson (Melissa) and niece Sue Martinez (Eluid) and several great nephews and nieces.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday August 14, 2025, at 3:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home.
